Cave Art

Cave Art
I'm trying to dispel the gloom I've been feeling all day... but there wasn't much light in the cave...

Caro, looks like stuff in the Algerian Sahara. Tassili. Quite a few cave paitings just like many places all over the world.
You have got the colours perfect! It is a subject that you could expand on!

Cheer up! (a) It's the weekend and (b) this is great. I like to use cave art influences in my work so I love what you've done with it.

Cream and Andrea - I've played with rock and cave painting ideas over the years - they do always come back. When I went to Utah one summer and saw lots of rock art in situ I got really smitten with it. I only had to close my eyes for months after and I'd see new rock art before my eyes. (And Andrea your wish for me in your blog did shift something, I'm sure!)

Megan - thanks for commenting - I keep on not finding the words to comment on yours... I go through times when I just don't seem connected to my verbal unit... and others when it just flows..

Alina and Janey your appreciation is greatly appreciated!

This is so cool! I love it! The gloom you felt didn't carry over into the painting..it's full of fun!

GG - thanks, though it was more of a brown study...

Yes, I got my colours mixed up there.

Brown is a good mood to be, once in a while, makes you think, doesn't it?

even though the colours are subtle, you've given this a vibrance. it's as though it's been etched in lightening-glazed earth.

beautiful work.
