Blue Surgeon Fish
When I asked which animal to do next, Andrea suggested I try painting fish, and my new collection of wildflife books had a rather handsome Blue Surgeon on one of the covers.
Fish are difficult to illustrate but you have done an excellent job! I have just purchased an early Christmas present of a fresh water tank for my Bearman. When we grow old we will spend our pension cheques on a salt water tank and fish for our food :) Salt water fish are amazing! Can't keep up with your multiple posts - so rambled on this one!
I have a wild pond and tend to encourage frogs and toads so no fish in there... But lots of other life. I can stand and stare into the pond for ages. Maybe I'll have to paint some amphibians soon...
Lovely fish illustration you've really caught those vivid electric colours. Obviously the Blue Surgeon is not even distantly related to the Pathetic Little Scribble.

i really like the shape and i love all the shades of blue.
Thanks. I've discovered that there a red coloured surgeon fish too, the colour of coral reefs.... lots of possibilties there.
Beautiful blues and green.
When I was a child, I used to think "they" [don't know who "they" is] took fish and painted those colours on them.
Great painting! Very hard to get right! Well done!
gorgeous! i love the colors.
The colors on this fish are startlingly beautiful. I really love this!
Love this fish painting! :)
Thanks everyone. It was fun to paint - glad you like him too.

I'm getting a brilliant picture of anonymous sitting on a boat with a line and fishing in her tank... I've stopped trying to keep up with myself too!
This is so pretty...with such briliant blue yello-green colors. I find fish so mesmerizing for their colors and movement underwater.
Thanks Carla.
