Illustration Friday - Sorry
For more versions of Sorry see Illustration Friday.
This week I drew using first pencil then felt pens whilst listening to "Sorry, Sorry" by Idha which Jim played for me to get inspiration. I then scanned it and played with it in Painter IX... which is how its become mixed media.
Earlier I'd asked him what the word sorry meant to him - he said it meant sorry he'd been caught! And that meant he could say it entirely without lying when it was demanded from him as a child.
What does sorry mean to you?

I'd be sorry, too, if I got caught in those snaky barbed lines. Cool take on the theme, caroline.
so you won't want the strip then?
this is much better though, inspired by song. inspirational!
i haven't thought of anything - timothy lumsden you might know but i don't think he's had global appeal. sorry seems to be the hardest word this week.
Hello Caro,
I like this blue.It makes my think of the sea.Great illo.
Have a good Sunday
Andrea - thanks - barbed wire? You know I saw them more like seaweed!
Ian - I'll have a go with the strip too - I don't recall Timoth Lumsden though I notice from searching that it had Ronnie Corbett in it. One that I missed ;-)
Marc - thank you and happy Sunday to you!
so, I like seaweeds, I like their smell...your is a cool take!
thank you for your comment: sometimes I'm sorry to loose touch with my previous erratic life style!
:)
Thanks Aynaku - things change that is part of life isn't it.
they are like whispers on the wind, repeating I'm sorry over and over! I love this!
Love all yur dolls too!!!
thanks Valgalart I like that description a lot!
Hmmm looks like string theory to me in a parallel universe. They also remind me of music.
Somehow these a like someone cried a river. That someone was so sorry.
Toni - string theory - that's a cool interpretation - I think if I was a physics phd it'd get me down occassionally...
Katili - that's a good version too - I hadn't consciously thought of that song but maybe it was influencing me anyway...
This makes me think of huge waves as seen from space...rolling in to the shore. Sorry means many things too me...sorry for a wrongdoing that has hurt someone, and sometimes sorry for something one hasn't done. The first sorry can help a person move forward, but the second sorry just holds him or her back...
Carla I like your seeing of this as waves... waves of sorry... and yes sorry does come in different variations doesn't it.
Wow ~ this is so refreshing for "Sorry!" I love the colors and the playful lines.
Thanks Amy Zaleski!
