I have always been fascinated by mandalas, but have never tried creating one. I like your clear colors and the openness of it all. Many mandalas I have seen are dense and intricately patterned, yours is open and light. Maybe you know about the Mandala Project? Here's a link http://www.mandalaproject.org/
Very beautiful and full of life.
I didn't know what a mandala was - so you sent me searching on the Internet. Now I know. What a great education my blogger friends give me!
This is lovely. It reminds me of purple iris and springtime colors. :)
Ooooh...pretty! I would love to stay home and stare at this instead of going back to work for conferences. Could i just call in and say I'm in a peaceful, meditative state and it would be a dangerous shock to the system to go out in below freezing weather when it's dark. No? Oh well.. Caroline, this is so pretty. The colors very harmonious.
I love mandalas. How did do this?

That is spectacular, Caroline!
I have a Celtic mandala calendar which I just love. There's so much to see and I always wind up discovering something new in each picture during the month. Like a lot of your artwork, they force me to take long second looks because there's always much more than meets the eye.
this is so lovely! i'm feeling good the first time i glance at it and the more when i started staring at it. lovely choice of colors.
thanks caroline!
When I taught art I often did a mandala project with the older kids. There's so much history associated with it -- and it's fun to do and requires few materials for strapped school budgets. :) I got some amazing results.
This reminds me of Spring!
Nan - great link thanks!
I recommend making them - they are fun to do - I've mostly made them on paper, though I've yet to post any of those here, but am currently still enamoured with Painter IX's kaleidoscope filter.
Most of mine are dense - this is probably the lightest I've ever done.
Rebekah - thank you!
Kathryn and anonymous - you both see springtime here... maybe an antidote to the grey skies I have most of the time in Decemeber.
Carla - I think you should!
Janey - I'll do a posting on this....
Wandering Coyote - thank you - glad we share a love of mandalas!
Isay - thank you. I'm glad its sending out good vibes.
Andrea - you taught art did you? Do you have any of your own mandalas to share?
beautifully designed!
