Teasel makes herself at home
We picked Teasel up on Thursday evening... and since then everything seems to have been puppy... or recovering from puppy...
The worst thing so far was yesterday... Jim had put up a small run so we could let her out into the back garden without fear of her escaping... and in the hope that this would help in house training her too.
He then went out.
A few minutes later he returned and rang the door bell... he'd forgotten his keys... he only came back because he'd put a few photos of her onto his USB stick and was hoping to show them to Colin... having said goodbye again Teasel and I went out into the outside run... after waiting in vain for ages for her to actually relieve herself one way or another it started to rain... in I thought... but no!
Somehow the door latch had come down and we were locked out!
Two and half hours later one of the neighbours came back from work and took us in... Jim returned about half an hour after that... and rather luckily had his keys with him!
The neighbour was one I'd said hello to before but never chatted to, I didn't even know his name before... he took us both in, gave me a hot drink and didn't even seem to mind when the long awaited wee came out of Teasel in his flat! (Given how hard it seems to be for her to control herself - how on earth did she keep this in so long???)
Thank you to Nick our lovely neighbour!
Here are some more photos of Teasel:
Sorry I've hardly visited any blogs recently... I'm just too tired most of the time... that or I'm sitting in the garden huddled up against the rain hoping Jim will come home!

Bonsoir Caroline....
Il est mignon Ton chien !
That is one adorable puppy! It is exhausting isn't it! Just like a new baby. Hope the housebreaking goes smoothly for you. My oldest dog took 2 days, the younger one, over 2 weeks! Baking soda was my best friend as I was sprinkling it everywhere to get rid of the smell.
Oh - I am in puppy love just looking at her photos! I'm so sorry about all you've been through already, Caro - but if she's half as adorable in person - she looks worth all the *trouble...

She must be quite a sweetie, to win over your neighbor, even whilst puddling up his floor!
Hopefully this phase of training won't last too long...Wishing you lots of luck!
*Perhaps a spare key hidden somewhere in the garden might be handy??
Puppy looks beautiful. Sorry to hear you were stuck out in that rain shower, I got caught in the start of it, it was evil! Hope neither of you caught colds. I suppose that asking the dog to find your keys only works if you've already lost some.
Re: sudden bladder control - perhaps she figured out that it was another pack's territory?
webradio - thank you - she is very cute isn't she!
Ellen - well she's definitely taking more than 2 days... she seems to have picked up some naughty habits from her siblings... the worst being tearing up any paper or pads put down... or eating earth / stones outside rather than viewing it as a latrine!
Tinker - thanks! She is worth it. She snuggled up and kept me warm whilst I kept her dry under my fleece top (thank goodness I had that on!). A spare key to the shed outside would have helped... I'm reluctant to put a back door key anywhere in the garden but I might hide a shed key somewhere.
Colin - I think we have both survived the cold and the wet - knowing I had to stay calm and be a model of good behaviour for her helped!
She certainly left her mark... what I didn't mention above was before we went in I'd said there was some danger of such an accident and he'd said it was okay as he had laminate floors but when the accident happened she'd snuck into his carpeted bedroom whilst I was ringing Jim!
Oh the adventures of having a puppy! I'm not sure I can handle one but then I look at these pics and Teasel is so cute and beautiful. I think trouble making just comes with being a puppy. Get some rest when you can!
Sacred Suzie - she certainly is a bundle of fun and a bundle of trouble too! Today has been much better - she's really got the hang of where to go to relieve herself (only one accident so far today) and she's been lots of fun too.
Jim is also very pleased - she seems to have brought him luck as he's just won £1100 on the premium bonds!
She's gorgeous! Having a puppy is like having a baby -- all this obsession with toileting! :) Congrats Mum & Dad.
Oh so very gorgeous!
Andrea - having a puppy has convinced me I'd never have coped with a human baby!
Jo - thank you.
wow what a sweetie pie, all the hassles are worth it in the end..they are clever, never underestimate them...teasel, a perfect name too...
SB - she does seem to be rather clever - indeed very sneaky! Like playing with an approved toy but taking it near something that she knows she's not meant to bite... then just "happening" to bite the naughty thing...
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! CUUUUUUUUUTE!!!!
