Week 5 of the No Diet Diet begins
Today Jim and I had a lovely lunch with Connie, her husband Brian and their dog Bella - it was great to meet them and of course it meant I could hand over the loot to Connie straight away as she'd won the journal cover etc. from my giveaway. She's a fascinating woman as well as fun illustrator! I've got lots to think about from our conversation.
On the dog front, apart from meeting the delightful and probably unrepeatable Bella, today I also talked to a neighbour who has a couple of Cocker Spaniels, both were rescue dogs and have somewhat bad habits but not too terrible, I'm going to go for a walk with them soon!
Whilst out on my evening walk I found these:
They reminded me how, as a child, I found it very confusing that there was a polar bear on a sweet that seemed to be called Fox. After them I found this:
Aren't those goggles a similar blue to the sweet wrappers! And I've decided that as a message I'm going to interpret them as "Icy before but I see clearly now".
As the title of this post reminds me this is the start of the fifth week on the No Diet Diet. This is where we go into maintenance mode. I don't have time to describe it properly now so I'll leave that to another day. So far I've lost 7-8 pounds which is very pleasing.
Any ideas for different things to try?
Update: Following Leah's comment I should clarify this and ask for any ideas that are unrelated to food as the No Diet Diet is about focusing on new activities and behaviours.

i've been thinking about the no diet diet and also a little bit i read from martha beck who has written about dieting in a similar way. without reading either of the books, one thought has stuck with me: only eating something when I'm really enjoying it and then stopping when I don't. The only trouble is that half the things i eat, I don't *really, really* enjoy, so I'll stop and then have to get creative in putting together something I will truly enjoy. it's been interesting!
Leah - thats really interesting - are you referring to The Joy Diet by any chance? I think that was Martha Becks... but I don't think I've got it.
As to eating only really really wonderful things - I agree! And a good thing about the No Diet Diet, for me, has been that I've found my food far more scrumptious and more satisfying - which makes it far easier to stop when it stops tasting good.

My god- you're eating unicorns? :)
That does seem somewhat confusing - to have a logo of a polar bear on something named after "Fox's."
I like your interpretation of the message from your findings.
Interesting that the goggles are at the end of a drainpipe, it makes it look as though someone swam out from it, wearing them. I'm wondering now, what that is in the net...perhaps it's whatever the diver with the goggles, found in the drainpipe? 0_0
As for something different - in keeping with your 'icy blue' theme, how about having/doing something icy cold that you'd normally have/do while hot/warm, or vice versa? Just an idea...
I ordered my copy of the book this morning, I think you should have some theme days, like a wear blue day, reading Tinkers comment put me in mind of you skinny dipping maybe in a hot bath, (not really an unusual activity) or maybe you could dress up really warm and go paddling at Portishead or somewhere similar!
