Spring Mandalas

Kaleidoscope images at top and bottom of this post derived from more originals from Beth of Mother Luck Flower Essences. This time in spring colours especially for Mr Nomad.

Having returned from Ireland I'm continuing to get more and more synchronicities that involve Ireland - right now I'm listening to a Radio 4 programme about Henry IIs invasion of Ireland...

Document

A Laudable Invasion?

Series using documentary evidence to throw new light on past events.

The story of a flawed dossier and an unlawful invasion. The Laudabiliter was a papal letter which for 800 years became the legal precedent for English occupation of Ireland.

Plus I've just heard that someone else I know has just gone there for Easter.

This got delayed in posting as the electrician needed the power off - this phase of our re-decoration is almost complete! Its a shame that the storm damaged rooms we'd decorated recently but at least they are now looking good again. I've been very impressed with these builders - how often can one say that? (Benchmark Contracts - for anyone in the Bristol or Clevedon area who is interested.)

What colours do you associate with the spring?

I love these mandalas - especially that primrose one - absolutely beautiful!

Greenishlady - thank you - the top one looks a bit spooky now I've looked at it again! I think the Primrose one is probably more spring-like.

They're both beautiful but you're right about the top one having a spooky feel to it. Spooky in a pleasant way, if that makes sense?

Both of them sort of reflect the colours in your profile pic.

For me, green is probably the most spring-like of all the colours even though most of the bright colours, especially yellows, are very spring-like.

Thank you for going all seasonal for me.

I really like the kaleidoscope effect. Now where was I in 1968????

Reluctant Nomad - glad you appreciated these! Maybe I'll have to give myself the kaleidoscope treatment soon too...

Davem - thank you - where were you in 1968? I bet you were looking through kaleidoscopes - my Gran had a great one that we were allowed to play with if we were very good...

I'm loving these mandalas...how are you making them? is this a photoshop thingy? (where is that book I'm supposed to be working through - oh, right on my desk).

They are glorious, those mandalas. The one below too, the beech one.

I can't begin to imagine what spring must feel like after winter...but your 2 yellow mandalas give me an idea.

Speaking of the Irish synchronicity again, my mum is reading Pete McCarty's 'McCarty's Bar,' his tour of Ireland.

This has a nice balance of simple and complex. But it can't be for Reluctant Nomad -- it's not orange!

these are beautiful!

I think Andrea may be jealous of the fact that these mandalas were for me and not her. :-)

Tammy Vitale - thank you there is a tool in Corel Painter that makes them - I've no idea about photoshop as I don't use that.

GG - spring is like waking up after a long, long sleep and taking a while to get going again. And thanks for that I've just realised that Jim was reading Tony Hawks "Round Ireland with a Fridge" which is a funny one... and now Tinker has just sent me a link to a news report about a coyote in a fridge...

Andrea - I wonder, is Mr Nomad right that you are jealous?

Mahima - hello and thank you very much!

Reluctant Nomad - I'm going to end up having to make how many if everyone wants their own? I hadn't thought of that before...

Can you see the faces in the top mandala? Its almost a cartoon coyote in the flowers! Actually in the corners of the primroses is a little elf petal man with a pointy hat! Once you start you can't stop, but really these are lovely Caroline.

Caroline said...

Jo - I hadn't seen the top one as having coyotes in! And the elf-man too - Well-spotted.

Was the fridge used like a boat? :-D
