Illustration Friday - Fat

Illustration Friday - Fat

Illustration Friday's theme today is fat and, as I'd already been inspired by Andrea to explore my inner pear, I went out and bought the fattest pear I could find. I had originally thought I'd do this in "real media" but digital got me and I drew it from scratch in Painter IX and then played with various colours and brushes for a while. Finally I used a canvas and lighting effect. At that point in the image I was working on a face seemed to appear so I stopped. Not sure if its so visible here...

  3. Danicalifornia - thanks - I've got a bit addicted to digital - its just so much easier to try something and then get rid of it if it was the wrong effect... but I do like using real paints too.

Valgalart - thank you - now that I've seen the unknown's version of your house eating those agents I'm a bit worried that you might somehow manage to do that!

  7. Liz Jones and Susan - thank you! My poor pear is going to get very thin if everyone keeps on nibbling her ;-)

Cream - I am quite comfortable using Painter these days - but I'm having to push myself to experiment with new things in it - its now too easy to just use what I already know... I can see another face in a different place from the one I'd originally seen...

Ldahl - thank you - I don't think of myself as someone who pays attention to details but you are not the first to mention it so I'd better pay attention this time - thank you!

  14. Your pear has a deity-like quality to it that causes it to rise above and beyond the realm of mere earth motherdom. I'm on my knees!

  15. Andrea - is it that aura that I gave it?
    Or the dazzling light?
