This young swan was spotted in the Craig-y-nos country park in Wales on Easter Sunday.
I played with the magic wand (and deleting seletions) and straight cloning tool to get this effect.
Sunday Scribblings topic for the weekend was When We Were Wee.
When I was young I got bitten on the bum by a swan
I didn't see it coming as I bent to pick up a feather
I shrieked and everyone all around heard my hurt
And I cried "Wee Wee Wee" all the way home.
And its true!
ReplyDeleteWell, I've never been attacked by a swan, but we once had an evil duck who wouldn't let anyone get to our door without attacking.
ReplyDeleteI want to laugh at the 'wee, wee, wee all the way home' but don't want to belittle your tramatic experience with the evil swan!
ReplyDeleteglad your back.
A duck followed me across the parking lot. Not much of a story, your's is though. And I really like that background.
ReplyDeleteI love your swan picture.I feel guilty I laughed at your story.
ReplyDeleteWhat did that rotten swan have against you? (Apart from its beak!) Most swans are reputable non-biters aren't they - that must have been your arch-enemy in disguise. Poor swans might be singing their swansongs soon if bird flu gets to them - I hope not!
ReplyDeleteI think I missed that episode of 'Stargate'
ReplyDeleteJanet - Evil ducks? hmm... we had a black peking bantam who only attacked men in black trousers... like the postman!
ReplyDeleteJoy Eliz - it is funny now.... mostly ;-)
Janey - watch out if there is a duck about! I liked how this background turned out too....
Harmonyline - thank you - no guilt necessary - I would have written it differently if I was hoping for sympathy!
JN - I've never heard that swans didn't bite... and if I had I wouldn't believe it... and despite having suffered the indignity of being bitten in a tender place by them I wish them no harm either.
Kyknoord - luckily I've missed every episode of 'Stargate' or did you mean Swangate?
Who woulda thunk it? A delicate, lovely creature with a such hard beak. weeeeee
ReplyDeleteI got attacked by two swans in Standlake Oxfordshire a few years ago. They can be quite vicious. But they're so beautiful, too. This is a great piece, Caro.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful swan picture. You do magic with your "wand"!
ReplyDeleteHow funny! And I was attacked by a flamingo, and my husband has been chased by many brutal chickens. Birds are vicious creatures!
ReplyDeleteGG - delicate? Oh dear excuse me while I choke...
ReplyDeleteWandering Coyote - really? Another thing we have in common - have you been bitten by a horse too?
Zinkibaru - thank you - I do love my magic wand!
Liani - I've been upstaged! A flamingo definitely outpinks a swan!
